Our new autumn event has been launched
HARVEST SUNDAY
A great day was had!
Thanks to bakers Christine, Alison, Laura (amazing courgette cake, coffee & walnut cupcakes, apple cake, lemon drizzle) and soup makers Eleanor, Nadia, Alice (potato & leek, veggie, minestrone). And to Richard for his tasty tortilla! Everything delicious and eaten up.
Thanks to helpers on the day Laura, Nadia, Eleanor, Angus, Alison, Christine, Barbara, Neil. Kay had the idea of a tomato tasting which Nadia implemented with aplomb. Very popular. Turns out Sun Gold is the favourite. We can add a couple of other fruits next year — suggestions so far are apples and brambles.
A steady flow of customers for a couple of hours meant that the cafe had a nice buzz — lots of people were asking about the veg on display and lots of chat about gardening was had.
All in all, a really successful beginning for a new slot in the Warriston diary. We can now think of ideas for next year with the aim of attracting more folk while at the same time keeping it simple.
Thanks all very much for everything!!

HARVEST TABLE
🥕🥔🥦🧅🌶🥕
To show the wonderful variety of produce grown and harvested at Warriston we are asking plot holders to bring fruit and veg specimens for communal display.
Large or small, perfect or otherwise—all are acceptable.
Please hand in to a committee member in advance, or on the day from 11am. You can take them home after the event. What's left over will be offered to a local charity.
